Perhaps it may have something to do with the factory they were built in?  Over the years I've noticed quite a few little detail differences between '65 C-body cars built in Detroit and Newark.  If all L's were built in Detroit maybe they didn't get the sticker, but other C-bodies that came through other factories did?  My L was pretty much intact and preserved and didn't have the sticker.  It was so well preserved that it still has a very nice 60's CAA sticker in the back window that's survived all these years.

Sorry Steve, but I have to add that my grandmother bought a new 1965 Polara sedan with AC and her car had the Airtemp sticker on the right rear door glass. I remember this because it was the first car in our family that had AC.

hich has such a decal, but a friend of mine restoring a 65 300 convertible 
rought the question to me, so I asked the best experts in the world! It looks
