[Chrysler300] Ken Smith Obituary



Members in the Sierra Vista, AZ area may wish to attend the funeral in their
300 or other classic car.

Kenneth Charles Smith, age 71 a 12 year resident of Sierra Vista passed away
Sunday, January 10, 2010 at home after a valiant battle with ALS. He was
born December 22, 1938 in Kansas City, MO to Frederick and Margaret Smith.

Ken and his wife have been car enthusiasts for many years having restored at
least 18 cars.  Most were Mopars including the most recent a '69 Roadrunner,
'58 Chrysler 300-D and a '61 Chrysler 300-G convertible. They built their
beautiful home and moved from Oregon in 1998.
 
Ken was past president for many years of the Chrysler 300 Club.  He and
Cecelia hosted car shows and meets in Phoenix for many years.  He was also
an active member of the Chrysler 300 Club International and established the
northwest chapter of the WPC (Walter P. Chrysler Club).
 
His smiling face and love of automobiles will be missed in our community and
across the globe.

His 'other hobby' and career was restoring lighthouses and the roofing
business. He learned this trade from his father and grandfather. All of Ken
and Cecelia?s sons also worked for them at some point. His 30 years of work
and restoration were in OR, WA Canada and HI.
 
Ken is survived by his wife of 49 years Cecelia of Sierra Vista; sons
Matthew Smith of Sierra Vista, Paul Smith (Susie) of Oregon City, OR, Thomas
Smith of Molalla, OR, Anthony Smith (Mindi) Newberg, OR, Andrew Smith
(Sarah) of Damascus, OR; foster daughter Theresa McWilliams of FL;
grandchildren Noah, Kaylah, Anthony, Angelique, Christopher, Brittany,
Hannah, Victoria, Mason and Isaak. 

Memorial Services will be held at 10:30 AM Monday, January 18, 2010 at
Hatfield Funeral Home 830 S. Hwy 92. Pastors Ed Rademore and Roger Bays will
officiate. Ken?s wishes for the memorial service are casual dress and
classic cars.

God bless as you join many others in that big garage up in the sky.
