[Chrysler300] '59 speedo cables

One end of the transmission-auto pilot portion of my E cable has come 
off & the cable looks to be mangled at that end, wires unravelling a 
bit. No signs of crimping at either end. I have located some on ebay, 
but none are 55 3/4" long as mine appears to be, and there is also a 
mopar universal cable on one site. Question is how are the ends 
attached? Do I have to locate the exact correct cable? I don't have a 
part number. Thanks
