Pete,

When I assembled my 413 seven years ago, there was no mention of a gasket in the FSM. After asking around, I was told that I don't need a gasket if I use the original cup (spring type) washers with the mounting bolts and set torque to factory specs. I have driven the car over 12,000 miles and haven't had any issues with it.

Hi Group:
 
    Does anyone have a source for the multi-layered Fel  Pro exhaust 
gaskets for the 1960-64 413's?  I have contacted Federal Mogul,  who now owns 
Fel 
Pro and they have informed me that they no longer produce the  Multi layer 
gaskets for our cars.  I was hoping that someone might have a  local source.  
I have tried my local NAPA, Pep Boys, etc. with no  luck.  Thought I would 
ask you all before using the standard Fel Pro gasket  which, according to 
experience, will last about two years.   Any other  suggestions will be gladly 
accepted.
