Welcome, Bill. I was under the impression the the dual point was only available on the H. My guess is that somebody swapped it on you, and that's not the original distributor. Just my guess.

Hello to all. I'm new to the group and just acquired a 62 300 sport convert. I've been reading all your commentary and it sure seems like there is an abundance of knowledge available from all the members. I could sure use some of that to help me get started with my 300. The car is in great shape body, chrome and interior wise coming out of California for most of its life with 76,000 original miles and all the original documentation. Needs some mechanicals which you have to expect given its age. We're pretty sure its the original 383 with a 2 barrel but everyone seems stumped by the fact that it has a dual point distributor. That has led to a problem finding a replacement cap and rotor since none of the local parts stores can tie a dual point to the 383. I would appreciate anyone shedding some light on this. Could also use the specs for point gap, dwell angle, timing, etc.
Glad to be a member and thank you for letting a non-letter guy in.
