Many years ago while I was still driving my 300-L, I needed to replace the rubber drive sleeve, and nearly lost a thumb because I didn't know about the vise-grip trick to keep the window mechanism from acting like a big pair of sissors. If I remember, there is a spring-load to help raise the window, and when I was removing the motor, I had my thumb in the wrong place when the spring caused the mechanism to move.
Anybody looking for an easily restored, well-preserved 300-L 2-door hardtop?
I put this one away in the middle 1970s in good shape, and it has been stored inside since then.

years ago I brought home a pair of gold 300C doors with electric winders.
I tested the window operation after giving everything a good cleaning.
my little very portable 12V batt wouldn't budge the windows.
These motors Take a lot of juice to run, between 13 and 15 amps I
recall, well within the specs needed to fry wires if they have to carry
a load that size for a period if time, especially if there are old
pressure fit connections that have over time aged (corroded any at all)
