[Chrysler300] Mags on 1965 300L ?

Hi all,
thought i would post a quick question about mag wheel size and what
will fit ok. My 65 300L still has the factory 11" drums all round and
the 6" steel rims + hubcaps. i wish to store these and put some bigger
rims and tyres on. i know the stud patern size is 5 x 4 1/2" centre
with 1/2" studs and nuts, and also the std rims are 4 1/2" offset.
My question is - Has anyone put 8 x 15" or 8 x 16" rims on this model?
I have some doubt due to the rear side spats as i do not want to
scrape and definitely not have to take them off - ruin the cars look!
anyone done similar and if so what rubber did you end up putting on
said rim?
Cheers
Jeff from Australia
