[Chrysler300] 300F panel alignment

I can't be the only one to experience this problem.  I cannot get the trunk lid or the hood to adjust low enough at the hinge end.  Both are at the lower limits of the adjustment range and are still 3/16 to 1/4 inch high.  The paint is complete and I hate to remove the panels and hinges to rout out the adjustment slots but that may be the only way.  Does anybody have a better idea?  Thanks.
