RE: [Chrysler300] correct restorations vs restomods

I intend to keep my G convert mostly original, although I do have the parts on hand to add the front disc brake package, which I may do later this spring.

 

If I had the time, money and skill I would love to have a modified old Chrysler.  It would be a G look alike based on a Newport, with 4 wheel disc and a new 392 Crate motor from Chrysler mated to some new 6 speed automatic with Auto-stick.  It would be lighter and faster than my original G, but I could drive it to lots of places I can no longer take my real G.  I could also beat on it more often and therefore be a little gentler with my real G.

I also was there (my first at the Mopars At The Strip) and enjoyed the 
car show (worked all day Wed laying out the show lot -helping Steve 
Hinkley the car show chairman) and the 4 days of drags (my first time 
viewing drags). Should point out there were some original restored 
cars. There was one 300- a black 1962 300 sport hdt., in the Modified 
Class, sporting cross rams, H hubcaps, disc brakes, and maybe a few 
hidden mods, but otherwise a very nice original looking 300. The owner 
regularly drives the car.
