Hi All,
I learned that Hagerty and Allstate are tied at the hip.
My Hagerty policy is underwritten by: Encompass Independent Ins. Co located in Northbrook, IL.
This is the same town as the Allstate headquarters and it turns out that Allstate is affiliated with Encompass.
I think that independent Allstate agents can quote rates now based on this arrangement.
www.hagerty.com
One other thing to note is that Hagerty does not offer high liability coverage.
For Example
A. Bodily Injury & Prp Damage: $500,000 per accident
B. Medical Payments: $5000 per person/per accident
C. Uninsured Motorists Bodily Injury: $300,000 per accident
D. Underinsured Motorists Bodily Injury: $300,000 per Accident
These are the max. amount that can be taken as I understand it and they are lower than the max offered by Allstate.
I think the best thing to do is get an umbrella liability policy for all your vehicles from another insurance company(maybe up to $1 million) and make sure the Chrysler 300 is put on the umbrella policy.
If anyone has a different interpretation of this, let us know.
By the way, Hagerty sent my renewal in April and suggested that I increase the insured value of my car from $15,000 to $17,000, based on current market price conditions. I took them up on their offer and my policy is only $194 for a full year, not 6 months like Allstate's term. They are fairly open to increased replacement costs as long as the owner can justify them.

This subject comes up about every six months. What I have learned is that
your usage of your collector car will have an impact on who can and will
insure you. If you use your car mostly traveling to shows and recreational
tours a Hagerty policy will likely be a good choice. My agent asked for a
few pictures to document condition and accepted an agreed-to value on the
high end of the car's probable value. I'm covered for shows, tours, travel
to repair shops, recreational use and an occasional domestic run. I'm
retired, but would not hesitate to commute in the car on rare occasions when
our grocery getter was out of commission.
It is a fairly consistent story that most conventional insurers are clueless
and disinterested in insuring collector cars (or RV's for that matter).

Subject: [Chrysler300] Collector car insurance
Here we go again...Hi fellow 300ers, I need to revamp my auto insurance as I
plan to retire in 8 months. I have always had State Farm insurance thinking
I was completely protected on my vintage cars but now I need to look at
other Insurance companys in comparison. My State Farm agent seems
unknowledgeable about exactly what they are covering on my old cars and I
need to know more and hopefully pay less.....I didn't pay much attention to
this discussion previously thinking I had it handled. Any suggestions or
recommendations can be sent to me personally or to the listserver as I
suppose there are always those interested in this topic. Also any horror
storys pertaining to this insurance might be helpful to all of us. Thanks

other non-mopar collector cars.
