RE: [Chrysler300] Shock Absorbers for 56 Imperial

I bought a pair of apparently standard front shocks for my 1955 C-300 on
e-bay.  They had been modified by grinding about 1/8" off each end of the
lower support bracket so they would fit in the A-frame.  Someone has done
the R&D to find a shock that can be easily modified to fit.  

There is a rather overpriced pair on eBay now at:  Item number: 330152207277
It is advertised as one size fits all and that is probably true--but the
original Chrysler shocks were apparently all tuned to the particular make &
model. 300's would have had stiffer shox than Imps.

Judges prefer they be black.  I'd avoid old stock shocks as I had an old
unused shock fail to work-possibly due to deteriorated seals.

I know this is off-list, but I need front shock absorbers for my 6 Imperial;
I believe these may be the same as for the 300B, but am not sure. Can anyone
give me source and/or part number from NAPA or Car quest to secure a pair?
