Though they were mostly older than the Letter Car era, I have owned or worked on numerous cars that did have anti-squeak or body webbing between the straps and tank and then the tar paper like stuff between tank and floor as well. So how do we account for the presence of a ground there?
Need an electrical engineer or equivalent to explain to us if possibly the tank itself with a bit of fuel in it is adequate to ground the few amps that the sending unit is receiving.
