Thanks to John Cote, Roger van Hoy and Wayne Graefen for responses.
I was able to dig out the "Brute Force" article, but had not joined WPC Club
at that time. So, John, I'd appreciate your faxing the WPC article to me at
925-513-6573. That line is also used for a dialup internet connection and
may be busy from time to time.
I see it was a Bosch halogen headlight unit, not a Porsche. Close enuf. I
knew it voss Cherman!
I have purchased some old bullseye bulbs on eBay and will give this a shot.
I also have the headlight relays to safely feed the doubled current to these
new, hot bulbs.

Rich,
Two articles I know about was in WPC News V36, No.4, Dec 2004. Written
by Wm. Vroman fron the Northern illinois Region of the WPC Club.
The other was in "Brute Force" Oct-Dec Issue 2004 Vol. 34 #4. That
one uses a Bosch unit for the conversion but also mentions a company,
Restoration Supply Co. in Reno, NV that has a 6 volt kit. #ELE207 at
$119.95 + S/H, to do the conversion.
I could fax you the articles if neded.

Some time in the last three years, I read an article
describing how to put
an old AutoLite bullseye headlight lens on a new Porsche headlight
reflector
with a 6-Volt halogen bulb. But I can't pull it up out of my archives.
Can
anyone give me a fresh copy or a clue where to find the article?
