John Hertog.nice catch correcting me on the name of the short story: The
name is actually 'The Body' of which the movie Stand By Me was based on. I
highly suggest it. OK, back to letter cars!

Rob, John and all,
I have to say I really enjoyed reading that piece! It reminded me a bit of
the Richard Bachman's (Stephen Kings Pseudonym) short: Stand By Me which was
later made into an absolutely wonderful and quite touching movie.
I felt a lot of the same emotion reading this story of the dual quad New
Yorker that I did reading that Bachman short story many many years ago. I
will cross my fingers for the movie!
For compliance purposes only: My G stick is STILL not done!!!!
Happy Motoring,
John

John,
This story beats the pants off my mano-a-mano (with chick that looked like
Carol Cunningham) race in my 300C against a sugar daddy out for a Sunday
drive in a Mazda Miata!! Great read! Thanks for sharing this with the club
and the tongue-in-cheek 300 batwing way of getting it on our list server!
John you're a gem! ROB KERN

Some of you will probably enjoy the story of the Monster Machine, a '58 New
Yorker with dual quads and a 55 batwing air cleaner (which makes it
300-related)... the author e-mailed it to me via the club's web site, and
gave me permission to share it with this group. I enjoyed it. It's rather
long, make sure you have some time on your hands!
