I, too, had an early experience with that White rubber paint.
My first car was a '33 Chevy coupe. Paid $50. for it, before I got my
license at 17. First thing was take off the hood. Then some Chrome
stuff. Then the magic White Paint. Being the super Smart guy I was, I
decided to wash the tires with Gasoline to make sure they were good
and clean. I painted the tires and they were blazingly white. As I
finished the 4th one, and stood back to admire my nifty car, I saw the
first tire and it was Brown. Walking around the car, each tire was
getting Browner and Browner. I was sick.
OK, they'll whiten up, I thought. But didn't by the next day, so I put
another coat on. Same results, but after a week or so, they finally got
white.
That car lived on $1. tires off the discard pile, 'til I sold it for
$60. But, I never found a White 600/16.
Regards, Ray
All right folks, time's awasting! This Ohio Meet will be a good'un,
don't miss it!
Lets get those Meet Registrations in soon, give poor Gloria a break and
don't wait 'til the last few days.
