I don't know where I got the data, but I have a little spreadsheet showing 1,768 coupes and 484 convertibles. I see the "International" Club says 1,767 coupes and 484 convertibles and the ", Inc." Club says 1,918 coupes and 484 convertibles. At least there is agreement on the ragtops. WPC article at: http://www.allpar.com/cars/chrysler-300c.html Also quotes the 1,918 coupe data. Muscle Car likes the 1,767 data: http://www.musclecarclub.com/musclecars/chrysler-300/chrysler-300-history.sh tml Daimler-Chrysler publishes the 1,767 number at: http://cgcomm.daimlerchrysler.com/documents.do?method=display&docType=factsh eet&docId=1824 So, I guess I'll go with that! Assumedly, 3NE571001 through 3N572251, as the good Dr. said. I wonder where that 1,918 figure came from? 151 extra coupes running around/exported? The last VIN of the C was 3N573251, since only 2251 were built with the VIN # starting at 1000. The 3NE57#### is for the engine, and I have been lead to believe that there were at least 16 extra engines produced of the '57 392 Hemi that did not go into vehicles. Unless they skipped some numbers, the VIN of the last one would have been 3N573252. The referenced VIN is most likely the engine number stamped on the block--as evidenced by the "E" in the string. VIN's and S/N's of these early cars did not match and it is likely some additional replacement engines were built along the way.
