Subject: cast-iron trans ID help needed

Can you forward this question to the proper person in the 300 club?

I have a cast-iron transmission that I'm trying to identify. I presume it's
a 3 speed but don't really know, maybe it's an earlier 2-speed model. It
has a removable aluminum bellhousing and a small parking brake on the rear,
I assume it is from a car or pickup and not a big truck. If anyone can send
me some info on how to ID it, or will let me send pics of it, I'd be
grateful. Numbers on the main housing look to be 1408240-6. This trans has
the selector shaft entering the case in a different location than the unit
shown in the Tech Articles section on the 300Club website.

Thanks!
