Louis,
The 392 engine serial number is on the top of the block directly behing 
the water pump and in front of the valley pan.

I need to find out where the engine stampings are for the 392.  A 
friend is
in the process of restoring a Facel Vega.  Interesting car with the 392

a black batwing (different from the 300) and valve covers, but does 
have the
Firepower markings.
