The body designations such as "A", B", "C", "D", "E", "F", "J", "M", "R",
"Y" etc. didn't come along until later. You might like to refer to this:

You might also visit Allpar at:

entire Mopar line. They also have some great articles on the different
engine designations over the years.
The pre 1965 Chryslers were officially just referred to as the big car
platform. Most people put the early Chryslers into the "C" body
designation.
Basically, the "A" bodies were the smallest, then the "B" bodies were the
mid-sized cars and then the "C" bodies were the larger sized cars.
I hope this explains it somewhat.
