Most people don't seem to make the connection to the old 300's. I'm not
surprised when a teenager or a twenty something isn't familiar with the old
300 series but when a 50 something gentleman tells me he had a Cadillac,
Pontiac, Dodge Polara etc. 'exactly' like my '65 300, I begin to wonder how
recognizeable 300's really are to the average person. (Mind you, I'm not
driving an 'F' around) When I say to those who ask "it's a Chrysler 300, you
know, like the 'new' ones you see everywhere?"...... I still get that blank
look like they're trying to do long division in their head. Being in my mid
thirties myself, I feel like I have to educate everyone I meet on the
history of the cars and why I love them so much.
I still wonder though, whenever I get a thumbs up, are they acknowledging
the car as a 300 or are they thinking "that's a nice shiny old car......why
are the rear tires smoking? "
Anyone near Broomfield, Colorado interested in evaluating a '68 Charger for
me in the next couple of days?
