Hi Paul and All:
As far as I can determine, all 300Fs had the little plenum under the  
louvers.  I know all my 300Fs do, and it looks to me like Steve's does as  well.  The 
plenum was attached by a heat curing structural adhesive.  (Spotwelds 
couldn't be used for appearance reasons.)  This  adhesive sometimes didn't bond as 
well as was intended.  The "F"  I am currently working on is bonded for only 
about 1/2 of the length it should  be.  At the rear it is retained by the hood 
reinforcement, so even with the  substandard adhesion, it seems pretty secure.  
I am sure others were even  less well adheared, and in time fell off.  If such 
was the case, it would  likely be lost on the road somewhere.  A search of 
the parts book turned up  no part number for this item, so I guess you will have 
to try and find a parts  300F hood.  Hope this is of some  help.

Anybody know if this was an Early  Production,vs late
production thing.
