This appears to be Clarence Bacon's old car.  I have seen the car up close 
and personal where it was on display and for sale at The Good Guys summer 
meet Pleasanton, Ca.

Personally I like many things that have been done to the car to make it a 
better driver/cruiser.  However much that was done was not done well. 
Decent paint, but a quite wavy body, stainless and chrome is sub standard, 
interior appointments such as dash were either not done or not done well, 
under car and engine compartment need major effort to bring to top 
condition.

This is a car that as a cruiser could bring a lot of fun and looks, but to 
make it even a number 2 car(forgetting taking it back to stock--which I 
would not do as I do like the changes--and the car has not been permanently 
harmed as taking it back to stock would be no great shakes) would probably 
cost 50,000.00 or more if done professionally.

If not for that, I would be a bidder, but not at the 48,500 dollar starting 
bid price.

I hope that no one takes my comments as a put-down of the car.  The seller 
has described it fairly if you read copy carefully.  I have said before that 
if I were to build a cruiser to drive accross America(in say The Gumball 
Rally--my favorite car movie), it would be a red 55 300 with many of the 
ideas incorporated in this car.  Now of course the red 55 that was the topic 
of discussion a few days ago would be my ideal.
