I have also received very authentic looking "second chance offers". In one instance, I had asked the seller a question about the item prior to the close of the auction, so I had his email address. I asked him whether he had sent a second chance offer to me, and he said no, that the winning buyer was going thru with the transaction. I also note that some sellers are now including in their ebay listing that they rarely (or never) make second chance offers. If you get one, check with the seller in the original listing, not the "seller" in the email. I also had someone in Romania trying to sell me some 1961 Chrysler trim. He was using an English looking name, something like "Tom Noll" in his emails. I am guessing that the total number of 1961 Chryslers in Romania is zero! Of course, he wanted payment via Western Union. Those payment terms should be a very negative signal to everyone....
