Tim and Group,
Years ago, (could it have been THAT long ago??!!) I built a .060" over 413
for use in a J that I had at the time. I got as close to the specs as I
could for a J cam. Used a Crane Cam, As I recall. Any way, to make a long
story short, the engine never made it into the J but wound up in a '64
Newport convert instead. The engine had the J valve train and headers on it
but only a single 4 barrel from a K. Let me tell you....this thing was HOT.
Made that big ol' N'pt rag handle like a sports car, light and nimble and a
hell of a lot of fun to drive.
I think both my boys had a lot of fun with it as did I. Still have the motor
and trans, (George built) in the shop. Put a 360 CID back in the rag when I
sold it a few years back. Have always toyed with the idea of installing it
in my 2nd D hardtop that has no valvetrain. Maybe .......someday!!
If I can dig out the records I can probably find the receipt for the cam and
get back to you what model it was. At the time it wasn't a problem finding
something close.
118,000 miles on the new KW so far since 12/10/04. Been a busy year.
Here's wishing all a happy Thanksgiving Holiday!
Dave Schwandt

lift for the VC-2 300-K, 360 HP version, but not the overlap and duration.

think so for the 360 HP version of the 300-K.

even slightly hotter cam for the single four barrel version?
