Subject: [Chrysler300] Fuel Pump
OK now. I don't want everybody laughing. I had some bad luck with
electric fuel pumps, So while laying in bed one night thinking about a
universal way to fix the fuel problem. I got up and went to the garage
and got into my box of old Midget and Sprint car parts. Low and behold
I still had my old hand operated fuel pump that i used in the old days.
So I took a couple of large sheet metal screws and attached it to the
outside of my 300F drivers door, right behind the spotlight and then
ran a rubber hose to a fitting ( I used a tie strap to hold the hose to
the right rear antenna.to hold it up). that I brazed to my gas cap.
Now if I start running low on fuel pressure I just put the window down
and start pumping the tank to 5 lbs of pressure. It will last for
almost 50 miles before I have to pump it up again. I know this is old
fashioned but it works great. It doesn't look to bad when I polish the
Knob.

Louis, I am trying to imagine this apparatus wound up and over and down the
side of your Big Yellow at the next Club event.......Nope, can't imagine
it!!! Needless to say the points deduction for authenticity might be a little
stiff, but we would also have to take off one or two for function if you didn't
plug the tank vent to keep the pressure in!!!!! 300ly, Gil
