If you are installing an electric pump anyway, which is obviously non-stock, why not just install a quality Carter or Holley etc. push pump near your tank and wire it directly to your ignition.(with or without a relay, or oil pressure switch) remove the mechanical pump and install a cover plate. You can now enjoy all the benefits of an electric pump and by installing an additional toggle switch in a hidden area, it's a great anti-theft device. I ran a Carter pump on my '67 Coronet daily driver with a highly modified 440 for years without any problems whatsoever. The pump was wired directly to my ignition and I ran the fuel through a regulator to maintain a slightly lower fuel pressure. Ideally, a return line should be used in conjunction with a regulator but for many trouble free years I didn't use one. The only disadvantage was hearing the pump so make sure you mount it with rubber isolators and wrap the pump with insulation if needed. Ryan Hill ------------------------ Yahoo!
