RE: [Chrysler300] Red Engine Mystery Maybe Solved????

I could be wrong, it's been almost 20 years since I rebuilt my Canadian
300's 383, but my recollection was that the damper and pulleys were all red
engine colour as well. My father bought the car when it was only 1 year old
so I know it was never touched.

I remember there was an area on the damper and pulley where the paint had
not reached because the color had been applied while bolted to the engine
and there was no previous paint underneath. The unpainted area was bare and
somewhat rusty. As for the motor mounts, I don't remember, but my thoughts
have always been that the engines were painted when completely assembled,
just prior to carbs and ignition.

I haven't seen a picture of the 413 in question so I won't comment on it
specifically.
