Mark and All: We, too, have used Westley's Bleche-Wite for many years. Marshall sprays it on, then uses a wire brush. I prefer a kinder, gentler approach, and apply the cleaner with a scrubby sponge. Wipe it on -- wipe it off. Great stuff! I share your opinion on Armour All. I used it a few times on the vinyl top of my 78 Cutlass -- and ended up with dirty oily streaks on the glass every time it rained. Also, using Armour All on the dash caused a blinding glare in bright sunshine. I can certainly appreciate all the various ways that have surfaced through the list. My preference in cleaning whitewalls is Bleech-White. I've used it for more than 30 years and never cracked a whitewall yet. There is so little "bleach" in Bleech-White that I doubt it could crack anything. If I used pure bleach on a tire, I'm sure it will damage it. As a matter of fact, I've heard that using Armor-all, or other silicon-based products, on tires and vinyl surfaces may cause them to dry out and crack. I don't know if that's been officially researched or not. My original reference to Bleech-White was refering to how I clean and detail before a show. The intent was to let all know that I prefer not to use Armor-all type products on my tires because I've found that the residue may cause the black (brown) to migrate onto the white and cause discoloration of the whitewall. I choose not to deal with the frustrating "brownwalls" that we sometimes see on otherwise beautiful cars. I would be interested in knowing how others on the list clean their tires. See ya in Carlisle. Regards, Mark Souders 300H Mohrsville, PA ------------------------ Yahoo! Groups Sponsor --------------------~--> What would our lives be like without music, dance, and theater?
