[Chrysler300] Main Drain Pain in Frank's Tank

Took Moby out for some exercise and had the experience of a clogged fuel
line.  Got home after some ingenious line clearing, and decided to drop the
tank.  It seems in a '55 the fuel pickup is some strange box-like device,
not removable.  So, any tips on how to prevent a re-occurrence.
