[Chrysler300] Astrodome gauges

Hi Group,
I need to remove the oil pressure gauge from my 1960 and I would like
to know if someone knows a trick to get it out without removing the
whole astrodome setup. In trying to remove it from the bottom, there
is a long black piece of plastic covering up part of the gauge base
which prevents the gauge from just dropping down. It looks like the
purpose of the obstructing piece may be to protect the counterweight
on the end of the speedo needle. I have removed the two screws holding
in the black piece but can't get it to move without cracking it.
Suggestions?

OK, while you're thinking about astrodomes, does anyone know the
proper way to lubricate a noisy speedo cable? Mine growls until I've
been driving about 10 or 15 minutes then quiets down, but it's getting
a little embarassing.

Thanks,
Gary Runkel
