Doug, I have not found any differences in the voltage regulator. The alternators are different, but the regulators are the same. My '61 parts book shows the same regulator across all applications listed, I don't see why '62 would be any different. Keep in mind the voltage regulator triggers current output from the alternator, but the alternators output is determined by (and limited to)it's ability to produce current.
