I suspect the car that you are seeing belongs to the fellow who runs the
Goodguys Auto Shows. Gary Metters(SP). He had seen my car 2 or 3 years ago
at his Pleasanton, Ca show(This is his headquarters and there are 4 shows a
year. Each show will have a couple thousand cars--many of very high
quality, lots of street rods-- with major vendors in appearance, large car
for sale corral and very large swap meets, worth a visit for those who have
never been to one, they are held all over the country. I am usually the
only 300 that shows up in Pleasanton--alternate with my Corvette-- and the
car generates many questions and comments, and much curiosity, many of these
guys have never seen one but when I mention that this is where the double A
fuel dragsters got their engines back in the 50's. 60's and 70's they
understand. It was on indoor display and he had asked me a lot of questions
about the B's. Next thing I know he called me to tell me that he had
purchased one and was going to restore it. Last time I saw him he said he
was going to street rod it. I too have seen what I think is his car at Boyd
Coddington's shop. I have Tivo'd a couple of street rod building programs
and have gotten momentary flashes of the car.
