With regards to your antenna woes:  contact Klaus Wojak, 241 Hanging Rock, 
Banner Elk, N.C. 28604, (828) 898-9338, 1-6PM.

Klaus will rebuild / remast you antenna to "as new", correct condition. The 
quality of the workmanship is excellent.   As far as I know, he is the only 
person around performing this service. Not cheap... but excellent.
