I ran across a web site on the net that may be able to help in getting a
new data plate.  The web site is www.datatags.com .  Give them a try,
the site says they do data plates, trim tags, warranty plates, etc.

This message was sent a few days ago, but no responses.  Surely there

be someone out there who can help reconstruct a data plate.  After this 
post, two other list members have written to me so I could pass on the
info 
for their 300Ds.  I don't believe anyone is trying to do anything other 
than to restore the originality of their car as much as possible, that

certainly what I am trying to do.  Evidently a missing data plate is not

that uncommon, so there must be a way to figure out what the data should

say for a reproduction.

When I bought my 300D a few years ago, the data plate from the radiator
support was missing.  I am considering having one made up.  Can anyone
provide dimensions or examples of a 58 data plate, and also the correct
numbers/letters to match my car?

It is a 2 Dr. HT, P.S., P.B., electric seat (sometimes), electric
windows.  Original color is white, but I believe I might go with
Tahitian
Coral when it gets repainted.  I don't know if the data plates had a
paint
code or not.
