Re: [Chrysler300] Otto Rosenbusch

Hi Don,

I had the pleasure of meeting Otto at the Plymouth meet, but had written correspondences with him prior to that. At that meet he had some original parts for sale and I was fortunate enough to purchase them. That evening at the banquet Christie and I sat with them and had a wonderful evening.

He was not the original owner of the Tango Red C300, but had purchased it from a widow in West Virginia. As I remember the story her husband was the original owner of the car and it was his pride and joy. Once again if memory serves me correctly the widow contacted Chrysler regarding the car and Otto made a trip down to see the car and purchased it.

He was a very pleasant and friendly man who did not flaunt his importance with Chrysler or automotive history. His daughter, Karla, has written some definitive articles, including one about 300s. As I recall, I wrote to her one time about one of her articles and some detail that was incorrect. She wrote back thanking me, but also saying that she should have known better considering her father's involvement with the marque. She put it in a humorous context saying that she would probably get a little ribbing from him. Very down to earth. That is not always the case with writers who perceive themselves as "experts" and are unwilling to admit any errors.
