300-G on E-Bay (Marketing at its Best)

The 300G you refer to indeed did start life out as a 300G hardtop; the only
mis-statement is that the "G" hardtop that was used to create this
convertible was originally RR-1 (Cinammon) and not PP-1 as they state.
And, the car is certainly another Glassel fabrication. What is not stated
on the auction site is that the car has the VIN tag of yet another car (in
this case, a black 300G convertible) and that the VIN tag does not match the
date tag, nor the body of the car.

The dealership is very aware that they own a "clone", and they do not want
to get sued - therefore they did state, in their ad, the fact that the car
was originally a hardtop. Even if they buried that little tidbit of info in
the middle of a very lengthy description of the car !

I did drive this car, in Las Vegas, a couple of years ago; it is a very nice
automobile, runs and drives very well, and is certainly cosmetically pretty.
It does indeed have its original engine. Unfortunately, it is a hardtop,
made into a convertible.

It has also been placed on ebay at auction repeatedly by the current seller,
Norm Baker Motors. I have lost track, this has to be the fourth time at
least ! Perhaps people are not that stupid ?

seller of the red 300-G on E-Bay (Sale number 2448092072) states in the
middle
of his extensively long description of the car:

I HAVE CONTACTED THE CHRYSLER 300 CLUB TO DETERMINE THE VALIDITY OF
THIS VEHICLE AND HAVE FOUND THAT THIS CAR STARTED OUT LIFE AS A TRUE 1961
CHRYLSER 300G HARDTOP WITH THE MARDIGRAS RED PAINT. IT WAS ALSO DETERMINED
THAT
BASED OFF OF THE BUILD DATE ON THE MOTOR 12-6 AND A BUILD DATE OFF OF THE
PLACARD
ON THE CAR 12-22 THAT THE MOTOR IS ORGINAL. THIS 300G HAS BEEN RESTORED TO A
FABULOUS CONVERTIBLE AND IS OF THE BEST QUALITY THAT HAS BEEN SEEN.

Now I don't know about you all, but to me one does not "Restore" a hardtop
to
convertible status. I guess you have to give him credit for letting the
potential buyers know but, then again, he also makes the following
statement:

THIS 300G WAS BOUGHT BACK IN 1990 BY A LONG TIME LAS VEGAS
HOTEL/CASINO OWNER AND WENT FOR OVER $90,000 AT THE KRUSE INTERNATIONAL
AUCTION.


Somehow I doubt that. His "Buy it Now" price is $59, 998.00. Anybody
interested???????
