Re: [Chrysler300] Ram Paint

What timing, I just rebuilt my carbs and planned on painting the rams tomorrow as I'm trying to get the setup back on my 'G' before going to the 300 meet in Phoenix in just two weeks.Still need a little advice, what paint to use on the air cleaners, can I take vacuum from one carb for the distributor advance(I dont have any of the vacuum advance hardware and it seems to me that I remember plstic tubes that were somehow joined together that went to the distibutor)and are there airfilters that will work that can be ordered from a local parts house? Its been 10 years since my last ram car (1960 Polara wagon with D-500 option) and am exited to hear that special sound they make when you stick your foot in it not to mention the difference it should make to the 440 I'm running on one carter 625 cfm now. Thanks and will se ya at Phoenix either with 625cfm or 1000 cfm, ha, larri.

I have some very good news to start the year! Through the efforts of Dave
Schwandt, we have a paint for the 1960-61 ram tubes. It is a Cummins engine
paint, that Dave says is available at any Cummins engine shop. Ask for PN
3163075 Apex Red. It apparently also goes by Rouge Red and perhaps Rojo Red.
It comes in 12 oz cans.
The sample Dave sent me matches the Chrysler ram red master even better than
the old Martin Senour #7956 did. Hopefully, all of you that need this paint
will be able to find it and proceed with those "F" and "G" restorations.
300ly, Gil Cunningham
