Cleaning rubber and preserving it

When I really want to clean a piece of rubber, I use Acetone (wear gloves!) and then I treat rubber from tires to weatherseals all with Maguire's #40 Vinyl and Rubber treatment.
The one time I used Armor-All on a new set of Michelins they had severe side wall cracks within a year!!! Quoth the raven: NEVERMORE!
