Hi Bill, Yes, at least the '57-58 speedometers had some sort of rubbery gray gasket between the plastic face and the housing of the speedo. It turns into gray black goo and herdens, especially in warmer climates. Scrape it all away, then set it back in with some clear silicone and remove any excess. Offhand I don't recall if the 4gauge cluster also had one for sure, but I think it did. It got less sun in the side window so was not as much of a problem.
