Hi, I have received several messages about the '55 Crowm Imp: conditions ? Is the car for sale ? etc.. First i 'll describe the conditions of the car (as said the friend who took the pics and who is a "perfectionist"..): The car is in bad shape: rust on all lower body, the paint is in bad conditions and peels off, no infos about mechanic parts but the car sat from several years outside and the engine is probably stucked.. All the pot-metal parts have pittings: headlight rings, upper windshield molding are in bad conditions. All chrome parts need rechroming. Windshield is broken. Wheelcovers are not original. Some side moldings has been affixed with screws .. Right front fender molding is not original. Front seat needs new leather upholstery, rear seat (and folding seats) are in good conditions. Seems that all parts are there. The car was formerly a belgian embassy car. Don't know if the car has a french or belgian tittle. My friend says that you have to spend around $ 20.000 to restore the car to # 1.5 to 2 conditions. As the owner wants $ 14.000 for the car he thinks that itsn't reasonable. He proposes to the owner $ $ 4000 and he's waiting for an answer. If he doesn't want a car i'll let you know the whereabouts of the seller (e-mail me privatly but not before 01/15/2002). -- Philippe COURANT (Pau, France) Imperial 57 Crown convertible Buick 58 Roadmaster sedan - American Car Club de France (ACCF) : http://www.accf.com - Chrysler Imperial France : http://www.ifrance.com/c-i-f - Cadillac " Standard of Excellence " : http://www.ifrance.com/accf-cad - SportsCars : http://www.ifrance.com/accf-sprtcar
