Re: [Chrysler300] Gary Whitehead

Hal, John and all...

The National DeSoto Club is aware of the of the accusations about G.
Whitehead. But, the club cannot be responsible for the actions and
transactions taken or made between members, and Gary Whitehead is a member
as well as yourself. Unfortunately, that gives him the right to advertise
in the club publications. Now that his reputation is known, people just
don't (or shouldn't) do business with him.

The Chrysler 300 Club probably finds themselves in the same situation. I am
not sure if he is a member of this club or not.

John, can you tell me if he is a member of this club?

I don't like it either. I have spoken with other people that have had bad
experiences as well. I also think that, based on all the unrest he has
caused, he should not be allowed to renew his membership in either club. I
know that the Trustees of the NDC have spoken about this situation and were
undecided on what action, if any, to take. At what point should we, or can
we, step in on personal transactions? Where do you draw the line? Maybe if
enough complaints are registered with the governing board of a given club,
then the club can act by terminating the membership of the person in
question. But that is about all the club(s) can do. Any further
litigations would have to be carried out by the members involved in the bad
transaction.

It is just ashamed that there has to be someone in the old car hobby that
lacks the morals to keep the hobby fun and clean. I personally would not do
business with the guy, and will voice that opinion in both clubs. If it
comes before the Board again in the NDC, I will ask that his membership not
be continued based on numerous complaints from members about him and his way
of doing business.

Good luck to those of you that were screwed over by him. Maybe in the long
(or short) run he will get what is coming to him....
