Hi Rich, John, and All:
I have some figures from the AMA (Automobile Manufacturers Association)
Specification Questionaire supplied by Chrysler that may be of some use in
determining the original height/ground clearance of the C300.
Ground to lowest point on rear bumper (not guard): 10.5 inches
Ground to lowest point on front bumper (not guard): 10.9 inches
Unfortunately, I would think these specs would be dependent to some extent on
bumper positioning. There is no figure given for ground to any part of the
car's body, except overall height. This is 60.1 inches loaded and 61.4 inches
unloaded. By comparison, the difference in loaded vs unloaded height for the
NewYorker is 2", because of the softer springs. Unloaded, the C300 was 1.5"
lower than the NewYorker.
A couple of other measurements of possible use:
Minimum road clearance at the frame side member: 5.8" (NYer 6.5")
Rear angle of departure: 11 degrees.
Front angle of approach: 18 degrees.
That is it, for what it's worth. Hope it helps a little. 300ly, Gil
Cunningham
