The listserver kicked this out the first time due to format problems, so will try again. In the mean time, I found an excellent website that describes altitude sickness and see that it is more common than I described below. See: http://www.nrel.gov/altitude.html
Non-supercharged cars perform noticeably different at the higher
elevations, even at the 4,500' of Reno. Be sure to allow more time and
space for merging from on ramps and passing, even on level or downhill
grades. Any carburetor problems will be exaggerated at the higher
elevations.
Altitude sickness at the elevations of Lake Tahoe and Reno is not
common, but may not hit until the second or third day. The only
solution is to immediately leave for lower elevations. Symptoms include
headaches, nausea and sleeplessness as I recall.
MoPa'r to ya and hope to see you there.
