I have always felt that the drone noise comes from the turned down exhaust tips. The sound waves hitting the ground and bouncing back and hitting the under side of the car. My Superbird is a Calif. car and had to have the turn down tips, so when I put new mufflers on last year I also put the factory chrome straight back tips. Now it is nice to drive in.- Gary Barker whuff wrote: >Hi Group, > >I have put Flowmasters on a couple of cars, the latest being a '70 300 with >TTI 2.5" exhaust system.
