Oops-getting sloppy in old age.  I said:

Ethanol= 12,835 BTU/gallon
Methanol=9,063 BTU/gallon

These are BTU/lb.  I meant:

Ethanol= 85,879 BTU/gallon
Methanol=60,088 BTU/gallon

Other figures are correct.
