Did this go the first time? Tom ----- Original Message ----- From: Tom Barrett To: Chrysler 300 Club Sent: Monday, May 31, 2004 9:37 AM Subject: 300C SRT-8 Oh boy! Here we go! Just read in the "NEWS" column of the July issue of Motor Trend Magazine: "CHRYSLER 300C SRT-8 GETS 425 HORSES" "HOT-ROD CHRYSLER" "The next Chrysler SRT performance model after the Crossfire SRT-6 will be an amped-up 300C, called SRT-8. Its 5.7-liter Hemi V-8 gets a bump to 6.1 liters and will make an impressive 425 horsepower - naturally aspirated. The usual host of suspension and wheel-and-tire upgrades will accompany the muscle motor, when the SRT-8 is launched early in 2005." FYI: SRT - Street & Racing Technology. SRT Models are the work of PVO (Performance Vehicle Operations). PVO is an Elite Team of Engineers from a group formerly called SVE (Specialty Vehicles Engineering). Be aware however, that Mercedes-Benz has a history of upgrading engines, and adding 10,000.00 or more, to the price of the car. They recently did this with the Crossfire. The Crossfire Limited Coupe has a MSRP of 34,820.00. The new Crossfire SRT-6 has a MSRP of 44,820.00. That said, I would guess this proposed 300C SRT-8 is headed for the 50-55,000.00 dollar range. Maybe they will pleasantly surprise us like they did when they priced the current 2005 300C - at 32,370.00 MSRP, a bargain to behold. Incidentally, have you noticed the 1957 300C is called and badged a 300C, while the 2005 is called a 300C, but is badged a 300 HEMI C. Is that correct you lucky 2005 300C owners?
