Nice pics !  Certainly a 'how-to' for those that have never done this stuff.

Just a couple of comments, though:

I would make sure that the backglass is either removed or covered with a
welder's blanket (thick, fireproof, sparkproof).  Otherwise sparks from
welding will leave unsightly marks on the glass.  I learned the hard way
with a perfect original solex windshield. :-(

Also, anything flammable should be removed from the car.  Again, sparks from
welding will ignite anything that burns.  Your first clue will be the smell,
since you're wearing a welding helmet and can't see the flames...
