1. To those who wanted to know was it safe to put old Halibrands on their Chryslers - the guy who owned Halibrand that my friend knows sold it on, and it since Halibrand not too healthy apparently, but will see my friend in about two weeks, ask him if he can contact former owner and see if he knows answer anyway - will advise. 2. What a mongel pulling the heads and refitting on a (original 1957 - not the new one) 300C - it is near easier to pull the motor out - or am I just a whinger ?! Anyhow questions 1) what is the headbolt tension, in foot lbs. and 2) what is the best way to remove the 4 'head to exhaust manifold holdon studs' that go into the water jacket along the base of exhaust manifolds - they now well seized by rust into the cast iron head!!?? One would have to be careful heating them, as the cast of the head may/can crack?!! I have left them for now, my 'go faster' ambitions let lay, but later plan to go the header route, and get rid of these studs that stick out side of head, and then use bolts that make fitting and removing easier. Has anyone fitted alloy heads - this gets round playing Hercules trying to refit heavy heads in engine bay, as well as these by now well stuck studs?! aussie christopher - hopefully driving my 300C again by tomorrow _________________________________________________________________ Open an Online Savings Account today & collect a bonus $30*! http://clk.atdmt.com/1DG/go/hsb005000991dg/direct/01/ ------------------------ Yahoo!
