One of the guys at the fleet show worked for Mopar Performance and mentioned that there is a crate engine coming of the 5.7 modern Hemi. He said that there was talk that it might be good to have a carburated version, but some techs thought that the horsepower drop might curtail saleability. They made up a four barrel manifold for it and GAINED 40 horsepower. Has to do with the fact that the injected engine has a dry intake manifold with gas only introduced at the combustion chamber. Somehow the old fashioned way still works! Ditto with the rear wheel drive configuration. Thought for the day from Street Rodder Magazine....."My life was not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming, "WOW, what a Ride!"
