Regarding front and rear glass replacement in general, when rust exists in the gasket channel, what is the list consensus for the best way to treat it? I know of four typical methods: 1) Derust using a oxalic acid or a product that contains it like naval jelly , then prime and paint. 2) Paint over rust using POR 15 paint or equivalent 3) Use a rust converter like Rust Mort or Permatex RT-8A Rust Treatment that converts the rust to a black like primer coating. 4) Sandblast, prime and paint I have used all of the above methods to prep rusted steel for paint, but am curious as to what others feel is best for window channels.
